I break down the kindergarten math standards into 5 engaging units

Sequentially teach key skills
Keep students engaged with hands-on activities

“A must have when teaching standards for your Kindergarten class”
On the first day of kindergarten…
Most of my students arrive to class having no concept of:
1:1 correspondence
they don’t know numbers 1-20
most can’t name 2D shapes or 3D solids
…and they have never heard of adding, subtracting, measuring or graphing.
By the time they are ready to leave me and head off to 1st grade, my students can:
my students can write numbers 1-20 (if not higher!)
they have strong counting and cardinality skills
they understand number bonds, number lines and ten frames
they can compose and decompose shapes
fluently add and subtract
they can compare and contrast different ways to measure and graph
…plus so much more!
