NURSERY RHYMES Book Companion

This is an adorable introduction to so many favorite nursery rhymes.  Each page focuses on one nursery rhyme with cute illustrations.

I made a FREE companion nursery rhyme activity book that goes with Usborne’s Big Book of Nursery Rhymes.

Research shows if children know 10 nursery rhymes by heart by the time they are five years old they will be stronger readers.

My two and four year old will sit on my lap and ask to read and reread this big book of nursery times.

Kids love the patterns and play on language.

Phonemic awareness is another huge indicator of learning how to read.

I staple their “book” of the poems in the same order as the book. They love this! I made poem activity page for every poem in this book.

You also don’t have to staple the pages together. If you prefer, you can print these and use them as separate activity pages.

Children cut out the words in the poem’s title, and then match and glue the words above so they are in order. This works on so many early literacy skills.

Then there are lines for them to write it on their own, or you can use these lines to have them write their favorite line from the poem.

After we do this, I have my kiddos color the pictures.

I love that this book has big board pages since it gets a lot of attention around here! They are so nice and sturdy, so it holds up really well in the hands of little people.

These activity pages are perfect for preschool aged children through kindergarten or even first grade. Practicing rhyming, allitration, playing with words, memorization and more with these nursery rhymes will lay a strong foundation for their reading journey.
